FAQs

Q?

Do I have to be a fast cyclist to attend?

A.

No!  Although we certainly welcome and expect accomplished racers to attend our camps, they are geared for any cyclist who's interested in improving their fitness and health.  We will plan ride routes with individual capabilities in mind and give everyone a challenging but appropriate training load.

Q?

Do you provide transportation?

A.

Yes, our camps provide transportation to/from Salt Lake City International airport and the luxury resort property where you'll be staying.  We will also provide transportation to dinner and any other camp functions.  For any personal trips there is a free Park City bus service and Uber.

Q?

I’m interested in attending the camps. My spouse/partner doesn’t cycle, can they come too?

A.

Absolutely! There are plenty of wonderful activities and events going on in Park City at any given time. Both of you will enjoy the luxury accommodations, and while you're riding the amazing courses of Northern Utah during the afternoons, your spouse/partner can play golf, hike, shop, visit museums, indulge in a world-class spa facility, or simply relax poolside.  Meals for your spouse/partner are not included.  Call us for details.

Q?

What are “intake documents”?

A.

Once you've signed up for one of our exclusive camps, our sports science team will send you "intake documents" - these are forms which you'll provide to us regarding your medical and fitness history, food journals, etc. so that we may begin evaluations prior to your arrival.

Q?

My cycling team/club would like a private camp, is this possible?

A.

Of course! We welcome group camps and can work with you...

Q?

I’m not a cyclist, can I take part in your medical, fitness, psychological and nutritional assessments?

A.

Of course!  The Heiden Institute is focused on improving the overall health and fitness of all athletes.  And, there's an athlete in all of us!

Q?

I’ve heard that Park City has great mountain biking trails. Do you plan on taking the group mountain biking?

A.

Park City does indeed have one of the best and most extensive mountain biking trail networks in the world.  The 2017 camps will be focused on road cycling, but if you're keen to mountain bike as well, let us know and we will see if other members of the group would like to spend a day or two exploring the trails.  Many of us here like to ride on the road and trails and we're happy to take you.  In 2018 we will host mountain biking specific High Performance Camps.
